16 Mar Top tot-friendly restaurants and eateries around Casa Eucalyptus

Let’s be honest, eating out in restaurants with young kids can be a daunting experience. As parents, we want our kids to enjoy a meal out together but know that challenges await, especially keeping the little ones still for more than 2 minutes! So, what can we do – make sure we’ve got that iPad charged, toys and books packed to go, and various other distractions to buy us a few extra minutes of peace and quiet at the table? The good news is that the Costa del Sol is jam packed with child friendly restaurants and most importantly, restaurants that are all about the kids.

We are happy to share a few of our favourite spots for dining out with the kids that are only minutes away from Casa Eucalyptus. Although these locals may not qualify as fine dining, they certainly know how to pack in the fun while serving up an excellent meal!

Chiringuito Torre Velerin – Bring the bucket, rake, and shovel and have a fab meal right on the beach, and only a 10-minutes’ drive from Casa Eucalyptus! With your feet planted in the sand and panoramic views out to the Mediterranean, you can relax and enjoy an amazing meal featuring all the local favourites plus some traditional Spanish sardines or whole fresh fish “al espeto” (spit-roasted), cooked to perfection on an open fire. As this chiringuito offers sun beds and parasols at reasonable prices, why not plan for an afternoon of sunbathing and building sand castles as well as a spot of lunch. Reservations are a must, especially during the summer!

Café & Bar at Mundo Mania – Not only the largest and best indoor/outdoor soft play centre around, Mundo Mania features a fantastic café with an extensive menu to rival top restaurants on the coast. Catering to both grown up and not-so-grown-up palates, choose from a huge selection of clay oven baked pizzas or mouth-watering wraps, salads and mains. For the picky eater, there’s always the usual faves from the kids’ menu such as chicken nuggets, burgers and pasta bolognese. In case you’re wondering, there’s even a full bar! 😉

Los Arcos – What’s not to love about a family restaurant serving delicious traditional pub favourites that’s only a 3-minute drive from Casa Eucalyptus? The main attraction of this friendly eatery is without a doubt the massive outdoor play area. From swings and slides, playing frames as well as football pitch, all fenced in, the kids will have a blast making new friends whilst you can sit back and relax or perhaps watch the match on one of the big TV screens. Sunday Carvery is not to be missed!

Funky forest – This hidden gem is located just on the other side of the N-340 motorway from Casa Eucalyptus, nestled among the trees of Benamara neighbourhood. Child-sized tables and chairs, enclosed indoor and outdoor play areas and a healthy child-friendly menu are only a few of the perks making Funky Forest an ideal venue for tots and kids birthday parties or for a healthy, yummy meal followed by an afternoon of fun. Activity programs for different age groups as well as special events and workshops are organised on a regular basis. Good luck getting the little ones to leave without a fuss!
